Who I Am

After 30 years of social work practice and 10 years of teaching writing, I remain passionate about helping people uncover deeper thoughts, gain clarity, and reconnect with what matters most through the simple act of writing.

My method of journaling offers a structured path to clarity. During sessions, people often uncover thoughts they didn't know were there. What begins as simple writing can lead to surprising insight, emotional clarity, and a deeper understanding of what matters most.

Trees & Breathe began in 2020 while I was teaching post-secondary writing courses. When the world shut down, I noticed many of my students struggling with the uncertainty, isolation, and fear we were all experiencing. I knew this fear was impeding many students' ability to learn.

I also knew that writing helps access thoughts that conversation alone often doesn’t reach.‍ ‍So, I gave them an opportunity to dig deeper into their thoughts with a structured writing process.

The impact was powerful. I soon began offering similar writing experiences to the wider community. By combining structured writing strategies with mindfulness practices, and nature-based prompts, Trees & Breathe was born.

To help you find clarity, I offer online and in-person journaling sessions for individuals and organizations. In every Trees & Breathe session, I will guide you to immerse in the moment, allowing your mind and body to relax. This will set you up to:

  • uncover deep thoughts through writing.

  • create space for new clarity to emerge.

  • make decisions that nourish rather than stress.

Every journaling session is a personal, private journey that guides you to where you truly want to be.
